Parent University

S.G.A. Elementary School will hold its eighth annual Parent University Thursday, Jan. 31. Registration will begin 4:50 p.m. and will conclude with dinner at 7.

The theme of Parent Univer- sity will be "Parenting." Classes will be offered in various aspects of parenting, and children activities will be provided. The Rev. Karlton Howard will be guest speaker. Community agencies that partner with S.G.A. will have display booths and will be available to answer questions and provide important information.

Door prizes will be given throughout the evening.

Advance registration is required. Registration forms are available at the school.

Diabetic teaching

A free diabetic teaching course will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Burke Medical Center.

Patients are encouraged to bring a partner or any person who helps with food preparation.

Georgia Day

The Edmund Burke Chapter NSDAR will sponsor Georgia Day 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Burke County Library.

May Frazier Long, author, will be speaker.

Democratic Party

The Democratic Party of Burke County will meet 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Burke County Library.

The public is invited. Ellis Godbee is chairman.

Night for Youth

The Committee for Representative Democracy will hold "A Night for Youth: Taking Political Responsibility" 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Thomas Grove Baptist Church.

The church is located at 426 West Sixth St., Waynesboro.
