With the polls already open for early voting and Super Tuesday just days away, many Waynesboro residents still aren't sure who they'll support.

Though those interviewed knew if they planned to vote Republican or Democrat, they were in limbo over a couple of favorite candidates.

They'll have to make up their minds by Tuesday, though, when they head to one of Burke County's 15 polling places.

Georgia's Presidential Preference Primary Election will be held on Feb. 5, the same day as 23 other states across the nation that will hold primaries for one or both parties.

Burke County's voting sites will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Voters may cast their ballots early if they choose, though. Advance voting began Monday and will continue through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Burke County Court House.

Burke County Board of Elections and Registration executive director Barbara Hammett called the turnout so far this week light but consistent.

Absentee ballots must be returned to the board of elections office by Tuesday.

Voters, who must choose to vote in either the Democratic or Repub- lican primary, will select a candidate for that party.

Though several candidates have announced that they're calling it quits, their names will still appear on the ballot because they have not officially withdrawn through the Georgia Secretary of State's office, according to Hammett.
