The Burke County Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the Burke County Library.

UDC

The Margaret Jones Chapter 27, United Daughters of the Confederacy, will meet 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at The Meeting Place.

Dance

The Sportsmen Social Club will hold a dance Saturday, Jan. 12, at the American Legion from 10 p.m.-until.

Bring one for the chipper

Drop your live/dead Christmas trees off at your convenience at the Georgia Power Headquarters Office on Woodland Road in Waynesboro to be recycled.

This environmental service project is sponsored by the Citizens of Georgia Power, Waynesboro Chapter.

Diabetic teaching

A free diabetic teaching course will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Burke Medical Center.

Patients are encouraged to bring a partner or any person who helps with food preparation.
