Burke Happenings Bring one for the chipper Drop your live/dead Christmas trees off at your convenience at the Georgia Power Headquarters Office on Woodland Road in Waynesboro to be recycled. This environmental service project is sponsored by the Citizens of Georgia Power, Waynesboro Chapter. Retired educators The Burke County Retired Educators Association will meet 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Burke County Senior Center. Wallace White will present a program on "Avoiding Investment Fraud." All members are encouraged to attend. Diabetic teaching A free diabetic teaching course will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Burke Medical Center. Patients are encouraged to bring a partner or any person who helps with food preparation. Call the dietary department at 706-554-4435 to sign up or for more information.
