A Burke County employee is in critical condition after being knocked from a tractor in a collision near Sardis. Andrew Doyle, 56, was operating a county-owned tractor on Highway 23 Tuesday morning when he was clipped by a log truck driven by Octavious Anthony, 33, of Waynesboro. According to Major Larry Lewis of the Burke County Sheriff's Office, Doyle tried to turn left onto Tom Bargeron Road as Anthony was attempting to pass. Doyle reportedly suffered serious head injuries when he was knocked to the pavement. Both drivers were transported to MCGHeath Medical Center. Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokesperson said Anthony was treated and released while Doyle remained in critical condition. More...
