Faith Christian Academy students recently invited their grandparents to school. The K4 and K5 classes made crafts with their grandparents, and first through sixth grade classes held an assembly, where the students read poetry and told how special their grandparents are to them. They then presented their grandparents with gifts they made. All grandparents were also invited to a lunch catered by the Cajun Gourmet. More...
Todd Lane, Burke County High School automotive technology teacher, recently invited a college representative to speak to students. Lane's goal was to motivate and encourage students to attend college. Jeff Duncan, Nashville Auto-Diesel College (NADC) admissions representative, told students that there's more out there than just finding a job after graduation. "BCHS has the top automotive program in the state," he said, "and each student should take it very seriously." Students were unaware there is a college that teaches them to rebuild, air brush and even "pimp" their own vehicles while also having access to a complete auto shop facility, diesel collision repair and high performance training programs.
