Dog found dead on day of adoption

By Mary Kate Holland Intern

Brandy was just hours away from her first home when she was gunned down.

The sixth-month-old dog was found dead at dumpsters on Story Mill road last week. According to Bruce Storm, an Old Fella Animal Rescue volunteer, the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. Brandy was discovered dead by a family coming to adopt her.

She was described as a beautiful red dog who was very so- ciable and sweet.

Brandy was first discovered abandoned at the dumpsters about two weeks ago. At the time a foster home was not available, so Old Fella volunteers teamed up to take her food and water.

"She would have made a wonderful pet," Old Fella volunteer Julie Cole said.

Storm said he is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the person who killed Brandy. In addition to the $500, the Atlanta Humane Society has offered an additional $1,500.
