Miss Thompson to wed Mr. Hitchcock Ralph and Melissa Thompson of Swainsboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Shanna Maria, to Nathan Alan Hitchcock, son of Alan and Kathy Hitchcock of Midville. The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. Friday, June 06, 2008, at Midville First Baptist Church. A reception at the church will immediately follow the ceremony. More ... Miss Rodeo USA, Kristin Scott, shared some cowgirl wisdom with Blakeney Elementary students last week. She spoke to the youngsters about her joy in western heritage, letting everyone know rodeo is no longer a sport confined to those who live on ranches and lead rural lifestyles. Kristin said, "It is open to anyone with a competitive spirit that loves excitement!" Kristin encouraged the students to branch out and try new things, meet new people and conquer their dreams. She also promoted the rodeo held in Evans over the weekend, which raised money to help the South Eastern Burn Foundation.
