Spartans fall in region ranks

      Their title hopes were dampened a bit last week when the Spartans dropped two region games on the diamond. EBA's baseball team, who was previously undefeated in Region 2-AA, fell 7-1 to Trinity Christian School last Thursday, April 10, and lost 6-1 to Frederica Academy Monday, April 14.

BCHS/EBA hoopsters honored

      Three Burke County High School basketball players were listed among the area's best last week. The Augusta Chronicle listed the Georgia All-Area Boys Basketball Team, which included senior DeVonda Lewis on second team. Lewis averaged 19.6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Jenkins kills two-bearded gobbler
     Tyler Jenkins, 11, killed a two-bearded turkey while hunting with his father. The beards were 11 and 7½ inches with 1½ inch spurs. Tyler is the son of Dickie and Wendy Jenkins.
