      Forty-two Burke County Cloverleaf 4-H'ers traveled to Swainsboro to participate in District Project Achievement Saturday, March 29, and 19 of them came back as winners. "They're all really winners," said Cindy Cope, Burke County 4-H Program Assistant. "It took a lot of work and practice for each young person to prepare for this event.

      Edmund Burke Academy has released its honor roll list for the third nine weeks. A student must have a 94.5 to 100 average to be named to the "A+" honor roll and an 89.5 to 94.5 to be named to the "A" honor roll. No student is considered for the honor roll if he/she failed an academic subject or had two or more less than satisfactory conduct grades.

      Local 4-H Club members are asking for help as they try to clean up the community and save trees. The Burke County 4-H will hold a paper drive Saturday, April 19, at Waynesboro's Wal- Mart. The students will be at the store from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. collecting newspapers and magazines to be recycled.
