A Richmond County couple was jailed after they hid a dozen malnourished dogs in the woods behind their Burke County home site. Kendrick Jennings, 33, and Jennifer Ruhl, 31, will face 35 charges apiece, including obstructing or hindering an animal control officer and numerous counts of cruelty to animals and failure to provide inoculations. Augusta animal control officers say the couple moved the animals here after they caught wind of an animal cruelty investigation. Many of the dogs had untreated injuries. Disaster victims may be eligible for individual assistance such as temporary housing, home repairs, and other large storm-related expenses.
