Bears kick off track season with wins
      The Bears are off to another good start this season in track and field. Last Thursday, both the boys and girls teams defeated Evans and Harlem high schools. Head coach Purvis Dukes was encouraged by the wins as well as his first glimpse of many of Burke County's young athletes in competition.

      Edmund Burke's tennis teams recouped from a region loss last week as they both were victorious against region foe Trinity Christian this past Monday. "It hurt to lose our first region match," head coach Carol Hogan said of the loss to Bulloch Academy, "but now we know more of what to expect the next time we play them.

Spartans walk to 13-6 victory
On the diamond
      The Spartans started off their regular season schedule with a bang, handing Augusta Prep a 13- 6 loss on the diamond. The victory came last Thursday, March 6, with the Spartans sailing into a 10-1 lead by the second inning.

Golfers face tough matchup
      The Spartans continue to improve on the golf course, but their real test will come this week as they host three region foes on their home territory. Bulloch Academy, Frederica Academy and Trinity Christian School will all travel to the Waynesboro Country Club on Thursday, and spectators will see just what Region 2-AA golf teams have to offer.
