Catrina Kennedy's technology/ career education class taught Burke County High special education and pre-k students where milk comes from. After completing the lesson, Kennedy's class assisted students in making delicious homemade ice cream. The ice cream was made by using two ziplock bags, sugar, milk, vanilla, ice cream salt and whipping cream. Burke County High School proclaimed FFA Week Feb. 25-29, complete with a FFA Day, Spirit Day, Hillbilly Day, Camo Day and a Dress Up activity. Other festivities included cleaning up school grounds, an eating contest, fashion show and a teacher appreciation breakfast. FFA (Future Farmers of America) held the first "Squeal and Grill Games" to celebrate the week, which consisted of a hub cap toss, tire roll and cricket spitting and catch the pig contests.
