Miss Williams to marry Mr. Haaf
      Pastors Melvin and Evangela Williams of Augusta announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Joy LaCoya, to Sascha Haaf, son of William Jones of Gough and Doris H. Jones of Louisville. The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Waynesboro Deliverance Church.

      The Rev. Phil Waldrep will lead a revival at First Baptist Church of Waynesboro March 9-12. The Alabama native heads up Phil Waldrep Ministries and has been a voc ational evangelist since 1975.

4-H'ers finish first, second, third
      Six youths represented Burke County at the Southeast Junior / Senior 4-H District Project Achievement meeting at Rock Eagle 4-H Center Feb. 1-3. Burke County came back with first, second and third place wins. First place honors were awarded to Jennifer McDaniel; second place to Chaz Williams; and third place, Alex Clemens.

Daddy's little sweetheart
     Waynesboro Primary School Pre-K classes held their first Daddy's Little Sweetheart Dance last week. The classes of Cindy Rhodes and Rosie Jones, Kate Banks and Carretha Carter, Pam McCook and Jessica Roberson and Laura Richards and Kashon Mells participated in the event. Dressed in their Sunday best, 38 little princesses were escorted by their daddies across WPS's stage. After the "grand march" the daddies and daughters were treated to refreshments and enjoyed time together dancing. The dance was organized by WPS Pre-K Family Service Coordinator David Skinner.
