Police tap illegal liquor house
      A Waynesboro woman was arrested after a police informant bought three shots of gin inside her Savannah Avenue home. Shirley Herndon, 46, was arrested Friday for maintaining a disorderly house. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department, the informant made an audiotape of his purchase last Thursday night while investigators waited nearby.

Two busted in undercover sale
      Two Waynesboro men were arrested when they tried to buy cocaine in an undercover set-up. Antonio Vershone Mims, 29, and Cedric Mandrell Lakes, 27, were apprehended in the Wal- Mart parking lot Thursday af- ternoon after they climbed into an unmarked task force car with $2,773 cash.
