Fender bender leads to chase, five injured
      Five women were injured Sunday when they crashed into a tree on Middleground Road. Although the Georgia State Patrol has not yet completed its investigation, officers say the wreck was preceded by a fender-bender with another driver in downtown Waynesboro.

      Funny money A Blythe convenience store is out $100, compliments of a quick-thinking counterfeiter. According to a report filed at the sheriff's office, a man believed to be from Sardis used the fake bill to purchase a 12-pack of beer at Dot's Bar and Grill last Saturday and was given $76 in change.

Fire in the hole
      Waynesboro firefighters had to wait for a tow after their truck got stuck in a Jones Avenue yard last week. According to Assistant Fire Chief Robert Parrish, officers were checking hydrants and eased off the pavement to allow a truck and trailer to pass.

      Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed Golden Pantry Friday night. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Depart- ment, the robber was first spotted perusing the candy aisle of the South Liberty Street store around 8 p.m.

      A fight that erupted at a school bus stop ended when a 14-yearold fired shots from a revolver last Wednesday.

Police officer shoots pit bull
      An aggressive pit bull was shot when it tried to attack two officers. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police De- partment, residents in the 13th Street neighborhood began calling for help Saturday when they saw the dog running loose.

Teen arrested for stabbing boyfriend
      A Waynesboro teen was apprehended after she stabbed her boyfriend with a steak knife. Last Wednesday night, police were called to Burke Medical Center where Isaiah Cooper, 26, was being treated for a large gash on his leg.
