Remembering the Man, Continuing his Cause

Civil rights martyr the Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was remembered Monday with a commemorative march through Waynesboro and a gathering at the city park. Community members braved the bitter cold to hear from the Rev. Dr. James Thomas and join in song with the Rev. J.J. Smith and members of Fellowship Baptist Church. At right above, John Reddish listens with his granddaughter, 2-year-old Jonnét Reddish, who looks above the crowd from her uncle Jeremiah Reddish's shoulders. At right below, Jeremiah Whitfield, 4, watches the program intently while most other children chose to play behind the crowd. He attended the event with his mother, Toni Lowery.
