Teen shot, then arrested
      A Sardis teenager who was accidentally shot by his father on Christmas day has been arrested for aggravated assault. Daniel Nelson, 16, was transported to the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) around 2 p.m. Christmas after a fight with his father ended in gunfire.

Teenage gunman still sought
      Police are still looking for the Waynesboro teenager who shot his mother's boyfriend. Donald Cooper, 17, has been on the run since Dec. 21 - the day he allegedly leveled a pistol at 51-year-old Sammie Habersham and pulled the trigger.

Pedestrian hit on Highway 305
      A Hephzibah woman wrecked on Highway 305 after trying, unsuccessfully, to avoid a pedestrian who stepped in front of her. According to a spokesperson from the Georgia State Patrol Office, Gloria Sullivan was driving south near Gough around 7 p.m. Dec. 22, when Albert Jenkins, 51, stepped into the highway.

      Misery wants company Former coworkers of a recently convicted felon called police when they started getting hate mail from jail. According to the police report, the inmate was sending letters to them, as well as their families and friends, in which he threatened to turn over information that would put them in jail with him.

Sex offender registry still growing in Burke
      Eight sex offenders have been added to Burke County's registry, bringing 2008's count to 60. The newest offenders, which include three convicted child molesters and another convicted of kidnapping, registered between July and December 2007.
