Walker named top performer
Jamie Walker, local drag racing champion, was named "Top Performer" by GoodYear tires Dec.8 at the 20th annual PRI show in Orlando, Fla. Walker was the only IHRA "No- Box" Track Champion in the southeast who won a title running GoodYear tires all season. He was rewarded with an array of GoodYear Racing Jackets, shirts and hats and was also offered more sponsorship by GoodYear and his current tire sponsor TRC (Tim's Race Cars) in Clinton, S.C. The event was hosted by many NASCAR, NHRA and IHRA world champions including Darrell Waltrip, Warren Johnson, Cruz Pedregon and Gary Scelzi. Walker continues to work hard to grow his race team and is sponsored by two Waynesboro businesses - William Mizell Ford and Cates Firestone.
