The Burke County Middle School Cubs are rounding out their regular season schedule in style.

The boys basketball team (6- 2, 5-1) played its final home game of the regular season last Wednesday and tamed the South Effingham Middle School Mustangs with a 44-7 victory.

The Mustangs were no match up against a Cub defense that seldom allowed them possession of the ball.

The Cubs have just two games left on the schedule, and then it is play-off time.

Head coach Larry Keller said he's pleased with players' performances so far and looks forward to the post-season.

After Christmas break, the BCMS girls and boys teams will travel to Richmond Hill Middle School below Savannah Wednesday, Jan. 9 and wrap up the regular season at Screven County Middle School Friday, Jan. 11.

The Cubs will host the first playoff game at BCMS Wednesday, Jan. 16.
