Citizenship Sunday

A Special Fifth Citizenship Sunday will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the John I. Blackburn Worship Center located at 4778 Quaker Road in Keysville.

The event, organized by Westminster Presbyterian Church, will include information on voting rights and requirements and registration and photo ID.

Participants will listen to issues, discuss possible actions to take and will help make plans for Burke County to become a fully registered and voting community.

NAACP

The Burke County Branch of the NAACP will hold its annual Emancipation Proclamation program 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, at Thomas Grove Baptist Church, located at 426 W. Sixth St., Waynesboro.
