Dillon Askew
Dillon Askew Dillon Cutter Askew was the top fund-raiser in Marie's Creative Kids Kindergarten's trike-a-thon for St. Jude Hospital.

He raised $198, contributing to the $704 total that was collected from the event.

Ashlyn Dukes

Army Reserve Pvt. Ashlyn N. Dukes recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, she studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness, and she received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

She is the daughter of John Dukes of Waynesboro and a 2003 graduate of Burke County High School.

Several area students are candidates for degrees from Georgia Southern University for the fall 2007 term.

Those students include: Tyger Cyerra Naomi Meade, Ezekiel Maquel Richardson, Roderick Donnel Sams and Walter Hicks Yelton III, all of Waynesboro, and Yoschica Lynette Ward of Sardis.

Students named to the president's list included Kelly Gagne, Tara Lewis, Kimberly Moncus and Kailee Thames, all of Waynesboro. To be named to the president's list, students have a 4.0 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Students named to the dean's list were Crystal Bailey, Todd Dickey, Lauren Lively and Tyler Thornton, all of Waynesboro, Fred C. Beauman, Mary E. Crews and Kacey Lovett, all of Sardis, and Jamika Harvey and Destiny Thomas, both of Keysville.

Inclusion on the dean's list requires at least a 3.5 GPA and a minimum of 12 credit hours.
