SMALL HANDS, BIG HEARTS
PTA helps youngsters learn the spirit of the season
By Anne Marie Kyzer Staff Writer

S.G.A. pre-K student Emma Jean Carter, above left, shows off one of her purchases from the Reindeer Lane gift shop. Right, Ashlyn Sapp, a kindergarten student at WPS, finds a ring to wrap up at the Secret Santa Shop.
Local elementary school students in Burke County are learning about the gift of giving, thanks to their PTA organizations.

Gift shops at Waynesboro Primary and S.G.A. Elementary schools provide students with a chance to pick out something special for family members.

And to make sure no one misses out due to empty pockets, the schools' PTAs made sure every child had some buying power.

The organizations gave each one $2 and encouraged them to use the money to buy presents for their families.

Gifts in S.G.A.'s Reindeer Lane and WPS's Secret Santa Shop range from 25 cents to $12.

No gift wrap? No problem.

The schools also supplied children with gift bags to wrap their presents.
