John and April Barefield of Waynesboro announce the birth of their son, Ashton Luke, born 12:14 a.m. Nov. 28, 2007. He weighed 7 pounds, 3½ ounces and was 19 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Clint Hill and Robin Hill of Martinez. Great-grandparents are J. D. and Vickie Hatcher of Willis, Texas, and B. J. and Gracie Hill of Martinez and Lincolnton.

Paternal grandparents are Johnny and Sherrie Barefield of Waynesboro and Joe and Daisy Edenfield of Waynesboro.
