Mr. William Frank Easterlin Jr.

Mr. William Frank Easterlin Jr., 81, of 801 Mulberry St., Louisville, died at his home Dec. 5, 2007. He was the beloved husband of Lillian Abbot Easterlin.

Graveside services were held noon Saturday, Dec. 8, at Louisville Cemetery, following a private family mass earlier that morning. The Revs. Ronald Southerland, Carol Andrew and Rosina Ampah officiated. Honorary pallbearers were the Directors and Directors Emeritus of Queensborough National Bank and Trust.

The family received friends at the residence on Thursday and Friday, from 1-7 p.m.

Mr. Easterlin was the Chairman of the Board of Queensborough National Bank and Trust in Louisville. A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, class of 1948, Mr. Easterlin served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1954. In 1954, he joined First National Bank and Trust of Louisville, becoming president in 1964. He served as president until 1997 when he became chairman of the Board of First National Bank and Trust, now Queensborough Bank and Trust. He served as president of the Queensborough Company from its inception in 1985 until 1997.

He was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club, member and past president of the Chamber of Commerce, member and past president of the Jefferson County Development Authority, member and past president of Louisville Industrial Development Corporation and a member of the Augusta Country Club.

Mr. Easterlin served as president on several occasions of the Ogeechee Valley Country Club. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Jefferson County Library.

He was an avid daylily grower and a member of the American Hemerocallis Society. He took great delight in sharing his certified Hemerocallis garden with friends and the community.

Mr. Easterlin was the son of the late William Frank Easterlin Sr. and Hulet Humber Easterlin of Americus and the brother of the late Robert Humber Easterlin of Americus. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Louisville.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lillian Abbot Easterlin; two sons, William Frank Easterlin III (Patricia) and Wright Abbot Easterlin (Laurie); two daughters, Hulet Humber Kitterman (William) and Lillian Carswell Easterlin of Louisville; and 12 grandchildren, William Parker Kitterman (Imali), Margaret Eleanor Kitterman, Mary Hulet Humber Kitterman, William Warfield Easterlin, Clare Carswell Easterlin, Frank Larsen Ogeechee Easterlin, Ansley Marie Easterlin, Julia Hite Easterlin, Eliza Cates Easterlin, John Frederick Agel III, Lillian Abbot Agel and Kathryn Wagstaff Agel. He is also survived by his cousin, William S. Harris of Americus, and many devoted nieces and nephews.

May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville was in charge of the arrangements.
