The Lady Spartans outscored their opponents last week 106- 56 as they picked up two wins in regular season basketball.
The first win came last Tuesday against Nathanael Greene Academy.
Senior Katie Kittrell led the girls to victory, racking up 24 points in the 56-35 triumph.
"Kittrell had another very good game," head coach Todd Layton said, adding that senior Krislyn Lee, who posted 7 of the Lady Spartans' points, played her best game thus far. "Overall, we played really good defense."
Helping out with the defensive game was senior Allie Lewis, who had 11 rebounds on the night. Carly Saxon, a sophomore, had 7, while senior Caroline Collins had 6. Collins had the most steals at 4, and Kittrell, Lee and Lewis each had 3.
Kittrell and junior Kayla Milligan had 3 and 2 threepointers, respectively, and, as a team, the girls were 13-25 from the free-throw line.
Layton again boasted about Lee's performance on Friday night against Twiggs Academy, in which she contributed 12 points to the 50-21 victory. Lewis, who had 9 rebounds, also played an exceptional game, according to Layton.
"The girls had a total of twenty steals, which led to some easy baskets," he said. Of those steals, Kittrell took 6, while Lee, Lewis and juniors Emily Anne Bunn and Ashley Bowman snatched 3 each.
Kittrell again led in points with 18.
The girls played Nat Greene again Tuesday, Dec. 4, but results were not available at press time. They'll rematch Twiggs in Jeffersonville this Thursday and will host the Curtis Baptist Lady Crusaders Friday night.
