Gingerbread genius
Jennifer Mooney has done it again. The Burke County resident has a knack when it comes to gingerbread creations - and she proved it again this year at the Augusta Museum of History's annual gingerbread contest. With a little assistance from her sister Joy, she tied for first place, and the $1,000 prize, with this sweet reproduction of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Last year, Jennifer and fellowemployees from Pineland Bakery won the contest with their gingerbread replica of the Burke County Court House. Each year, the museum sponsors the contest which features baked and iced models of historic buildings across the CSRA - and the competition draws some of the best chefs from the Augusta/Aiken area.
