Charles Heath Ruffner Jr. weighing in at 6 pounds, 1 ounce, was born Nov. 2 at 10:06 p.m. at McLead Medical Center in Florence, S.C. Oh, congratulations also to Grandpa, Jacky Minyard. ****** When we found out about the awaited precious birth of Sara Grace Michele Cribb, we planned our Thanksgiving story. Elizabeth Billips conducted the interview two weeks before Thanksgiving thinking we would have enough time to write about the much-anticipated birth. A couple of days before the interview, we learned Michele was ordered to bed and the baby might come early. She did - and Elizabeth re-wrote some of her story. What a story! I have known of the Shaw sisters since their births through our respective families. This is one of the most heart-warming stories and gift of love I have ever heard about. Michele summed it all up when asked about being a surrogate mother, She said, "It doesn't feel like I'm making a sacrifice at all ... it just feels like the right thing to do." Congratulations, mom and dad, Brent and Renee Cribb! ****** Many of you probably know by now The True Citizen has had major problems with emails since we closed for Thanksgiving holidays. If you sent an email to any of the staff since noon last Wednesday, chances are we did not receive it. Our web site, www.thetruecitizen.com, has also been down. Since that time we have changed our domain host but our email addresses will remain the same. If you sent an ad, letter to the editor, legal notice or any information, please re-send the email. We apologize for the inconvenience, but modern technology sometimes fails us. I am not complaining. When technology is good it is wonderful, but when it's interrupted for some reason or another ... it causes a mass of confusion and an uproar. Monday and Tuesday were difficult days to say the least. Please bear with us during this change over! ****** Mark your calendars for Christmas on Liberty Square this Friday in historic downtown Waynesboro. Snow is predicted! If it rains, festivities will be on Saturday at the same time. See the full page ad in this week's newspaper for details. |
