Joseph Matthew Lane Jr.

Joseph Matthew Lane, Jr. 62, of Evans beloved husband of Mrs. Geraldine S. Lane entered into rest on Monday Nov. 19, 2007 at Doctor's Hospital.

The family received friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Rd., Martinez.

The body was then conveyed to Carter Funeral Home-Richmond Hill, Ga..

A chapel service was held 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23 with the Rev. Jim Knight officiating.

The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Interment followed in Burnt Church Cemetery.

Matthew was the assistant director of Pharmacy at University Hospital for 32 years. He was a member of Belle Meade Hunt, serving as the Hilltop Field master.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Joseph Matthew Lane III ; daughters, Emily L. Lane , Jennifer Lane Sloan and Ashley Elaine Kennedy; five grandchildren; a brother; and four sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Matthew Sr. and Emily Lewis Lane and a brother Richard Lane.
