Big happenings in Keysville

An excited young spectator points in amazement at an approaching Burke County EMA fire truck as the Come Back to Keysville parade proceeds through the town. Church groups, emergency vehicles, motorcycles and marching bands entertained residents of Keysville Saturday morning in the parade before the celebration began on the old city hall grounds. A program on education and preventive healthcare, arts and crafts and activities for children awaited festival goers there. One of the hallmarks of the annual event, good eats ranging from grilled chicken and ribs to homemade desserts, beckoned from tents scattered beneath the trees. Saturday's affair marked the town's 19th annual Come Back to Keysville celebration.
