Alzheimer group

Alzheimer Association's Burke County support group will meet 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Wimberly House.

Chickenque

Edmund Burke Academy will celebrate its Homecoming Friday, Nov. 2 and will be selling chicken dinner plates that consist of grilled chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese and a homemade slice of cake.

Tickets are $6 and will be on sale until Friday, Oct. 26.

Take-outs will be available from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the concession stand and 4:30-6 p.m. in front of the school. Dinein from 5-7 p.m. in the school lunchroom.

Deliveries for lunch can be arranged. Inquire at the time of ticket purchase.

Free legal help

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) staff will be in Burke County to meet with senior citizens wanting free legal help, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

They offer service to senior citizens 60 years of age or older with civil (non-criminal) legal issues and will be available to meet 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Midville Senior Center, located at the corner of Kilpatrick Street and Highway 17, and from 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. at the Waynesboro Senior Center, 717 West Sixth St.

The GLSP office which serves Burke County is in Augusta at 209 Seventh St., Suite 400.

Barrett Grove Baptist Church will hold annual fall revival services Monday-Friday, Oct. 22- 26, at 7:30 nightly.

The Rev. John H. Bush, pastor of Saulters Grove and Carswell Grove Baptist churches, will be guest minister for the week.

Fellowship Baptist Church will celebrate the eighth pastoral anniversary of the Rev. Dr. James Thomas Sunday, Oct. 21.
