From the Blotter 10 points A Burke County man bagged a trophy buck … the hard way. The man was driving his brand new truck down West Sixth Street before daybreak Tuesday when a 10-pointer came out of the Pineland Bakery parking lot and ran into the side of his Chevy. The deer died on the scene, but the driver was uninjured. He estimated that the collision caused about $3,500 worth of damage to his 3-day-old Silverado. Re-bolting A Waynesboro man called deputies after his vehicle was hit by a flying object. According to a report filed at the Burke County Sheriff's Office, the man was driving behind a truck hauling a bulldozer when a large bolt flew off of it and hit his windshield. The trucker relayed the accident details to the owner of the trucking company who, in turn, promised to replace the man's windshield. |
