RFD
By Bonnie K. Taylor General Manager The True Citizen

Well, I have done it, again!

I don't know if you noticed or not but the headline on Marshall Singletary's column on this page last week was incorrect. I miss identified him as "Marshall Young."

When I received an email from Marshall Singletary it read: "MARSHALL YOUNG": Hummmm, I think I like that name. At this point, I guess it's the only way I can remain "young."

I immediately knew what I did, because I typed Young instead of Singletary several times before but I caught my mistake and corrected it.

This time I did not catch it.

I emailed him back which read; "Marshall Young is the former Cotton States agent who is married to Emily Goolsby.

My apologies to both Marshalls.

Sympathy is extended to Steve Crawford.

Steve's brother, Lt. Col. (ret) David Crawford, 65, of Eufaula, Ala., died recently.

David was a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. He served in Vietnam. He was on a tour of duty as a helicopter instrument instructor in North Korea when his helicopter was shot down andhe was taken as a POW.

It's men and women like David, who remind us how precious the freedom is that we enjoy.

Congratulations to Olivia "Livy" DuMars and Jim Marvin. Olivia became Mrs. James Frederick Marvin last Saturday at First United Methodist Church.

She is the daughter of my co-worker, Jill DuMars, and Scott DuMars.

Scott held onto his daughter tightly, before giving her away.

It was a beautiful ceremony. I wish them both much wedded bliss.
