Buffalo Soldiers, Cowboy Mike

Cowboy Mike's at it again. On Wed., Oct. 17, Augusta State University Professor Michael Searles will be at the Burke County Library, 4-6 p.m., to talk about his hot-off-the-press book, "Buffalo Soldiers in the West: A Black Soldier's Anthology." The Burke County resident recently coauthored the anthology with retired Sul Ross University professor Dr. Bruce A. Glasrud - and, already, the book is being praised in academic circle's for its rich portrayal of the African Americans who soldiered the West after the Civil War. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
