Frightful Fun
Sardis is where the scare is
By Diana Royal Staff Writer

The Crypt Keeper awaits visitors in one of the 13 rooms of the haunted house.
Spiders and witches and blood, oh my!

That's exactly what you'll find as you creep through the dark hallways of the fourth annual Frog Wallow Fright Nights haunted house.

The ghouls make their first appearance this Friday, Oct. 12, from 8-11 p.m., and will continue to scare the heebie-jeebies out of their "guests" every Friday and Saturday night through Nov. 3, at that same time.

This year's house features many new rooms - Dead Silence, the Witches' Lair and The Park. Visitors shouldn't just fear what could be lurking in creepy corners, they'll need to watch where they're walking as they approach the radio active spider maze and stroll past Elm Street. A red-eyed mummy gazes down from his tomb in Deadend Cemetery - and he may (or may not) be the only one in the room.

Of course everyone's favorite chainsaw carrying psycho is bound to pop up when least expected, and Sheron Allen, event organizer, says she and her crew have several surprises that are certain to frighten even the most fearless.

For the younger children, and the adults who'd just "rather not," the spooksters have created "The Hall of Animation." Allen says children can take this tour and then venture outside to the funhouse bouncer while their parents, or courageous counterparts, explore the 13-room haunted house. Thanks to the sponsorship of surrounding businesses, Allen says children won't go home empty-handed either - they'll each get a bag of goodies for being brave.

The house, which has been voted best in the CSRA for two years by Clear Channel Radio, is located at the old S.G.A. High School on the corner of Ball Park and Ellison Bridge roads in Sardis. All proceeds go to the restoration of the school.

Children, 48 inches or shorter, can get scared for $3, when accompanied by an adult. For everyone else, admission is $6, and there's a $3 fee for the animated hallway. Concessions will be available at the Frog Wallow Café - if you don't run out the door screaming first.
