Highlights from Burke County 4-H Clubs Burke 4-H'ers have 29 clubs in local schools with more than 500 members
4-H is a program of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Cooperative Extension System whose mission is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge and developing life skills accomplished through "hands on" learning experiences, focused on agriculture and enviornmental issues, agruiculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation and citizenship. Georgia 4-H, a partner in public education, is youth and adults learning, growing and working

 | | Burke County 5th and 6th graders competed in Cloverleaf District Project Achievement. They had to research, assemble and present a six-minute illustrated talk using posters and other props. At this District contest Burke County won the following awards: Most 2nd Place winners, most 4-H'ers Attending in the District, County with the Greatest Improvement, and 2nd Place Highest Percentage of Winners. |
