Church News First United First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro will hold Homecoming services Sunday, Oct. 14, and will also celebrate 300 years of Methodism in Georgia. The Rev. Jim McIlrath, a former pastor of the church, will deliver the sermon. FUMC's First Response Emergency Team worked with him in the aftermath of the South Georgia area's tornado last spring. Dinner will be served in the church's social hall following the service, and FUMC's Home Grown Band will provide music. Phillip Grove Phillip Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its 41st youth anniversary 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. The Rev. Harold Moore of Kingdom Life Fellowship in Wadley will be guest speaker, and Frances Young of Good Shephard Baptist Church and Jose Cruz of Gardner Grove Baptist Church will serve as mistress and master of ceremony.
