Mrs. Elaine Hunter

Elaine Hunter of Ypsilanti, Mich., 61, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Antioch Baptist Church, 6538 Rawsonville Road, Belleville, Mich.

Burial followed in Alban Cemetery in Belleville.

She was born Jan. 19, 1946 in Alexander, Ga., to Henry Edward and Era Mae (Barefield) Flake. On Jan. 19, 1962, she married James T. Hunter in Waynesboro, Ga., and he survives.

Elaine loved her grandson, Darren, auto racing and horseback riding. In addition to her loving husband of 45 years, sur- vivors include two sons, James Hunter III and Duane (Lori) Hunter, both of Ypsilanti; a grandson, Darren; her mother, Era Mae Flake of Sardis, Ga.; a sister, Sandra Flake of Waynesboro; two brothers, Lester (Carolyn) Flake of Augusta, Ga., and Henry (Judy) Flake, both of Sardis; a sisterin law, Mary Ellen Royal (Buddy) of Girard, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister.

The family received friends 6- 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 and 2- 4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel.
