Deputy reunites LoveDog with owner
By Elizabeth Billips Associate Editor

Deputy Louise Graydon, left, reunited LoveDog with his owner Angie Parker. The injured dog had been missing since last Monday when he wandered away from a violent wreck on Highway 80.
There's a happy ending for LoveDog, thanks to a Burke County deputy.

After two days of roaming alone and hungry, he was coaxed into the arms of Deputy Louise Graydon and reunited with his owner, Angie Parker of Decatur.

LoveDog had been missing since Parker's pick-up was knocked upside-down in a four-vehicle wreck on Highway 80 last Monday afternoon.

"(Deputy Graydon) rode by the wreck scene every day until she found my dog," Parker said. "It's unbelievable."

Parker said LoveDog, who suffered serious abrasions to his paw pads but was otherwise uninjured, is recovering at home. Also recovering is Parker's other dog, Max, who was scooped up by rescue workers and tied to the bumper of a wrecked vehicle until the injured motorists could be stabilized.

"I have nothing but gratitude for the deputy and the people of Burke County in general," Parker said, relaying the outpouring of calls and suggestions from strangers willing to help. "Everybody was genuinely interested and concerned."
