Prayer rally

A community prayer rally will be held 4 p.m.-until, Saturday, Oct. 13, at Waynesboro City Park.

The event is sponsored by Children of Christ.

Diabetic teaching

A free service of diabetic teaching will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Burke Medical Center.

Patients are encouraged to bring a partner or any person who helps with food preparation. Call the dietary department at 706-554-4435 to sign up or for more information. Space is limited.

ACS

The American Cancer Society will hold a "We Are Here" information session 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Wimberly House.

The session will tell of the programs and services offered by the ACS that are designed to meet the needs of cancer patients and their families.

Retired educators

The Burke County Retired Educators Association will meet 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Burke County Senior Citizens Center.

Poetry group

The Poetry Group will meet 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Burke County Library.

The public is invited.
