Middle school Spartans now 3-0

The Edmund Burke Academy Middle School Spartans pushed their record to 3-0 by defeating Bulloch Academy 30-6. The Spartans took to the air in the defeat of the Gators with quarterback Logan Christian connecting with tight end Josh Gradous on touchdown passes of 47 and 22 yards in the first half. Christian added a rushing touchdown, and Dawson Atkinson scored the final touchdown of the night for the Spartans. The offensive line of Gradous, Seth Paulk, Colton McGraw, Clarke Jenkins, Dylan Smith, Austin Daniel and Hunter Baxley opened holes time after time in a large Bulloch defensive front. Clint Saxon led the rushing attack with 126 yards followed by Christian with 43; Atkinson, 39; and Brandon Sharpe, 15. The defense led by Paulk, Saxon and Sharpe held the Gators scoreless until the fourth quarter. The Spartans will host the Brentwood Eagles on Thursday Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.
