Father jailed for ramming wife, baby

A Waynesboro father was arrested for purposely ramming the parked car his wife and baby were sitting inside.

According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Depart- ment, 21-year-old Rashad White was jailed last Tuesday on charges of battery, simple battery and cruelty to children in the third degree (Family Violence Act).

According to witnesses, White's wife had just parked her car in front of a downtown Liberty Street store when he rammed into the driver's side door.

White allegedly got out of his vehicle and tried to pull his wife through her car window while their 23-month old daughter watched.

He finally left after breaking the key off in the ignition.

According to Lt. Mary Bennett, the child was not injured, and the mother's injuries were minor.

White was arrested at his Dowell Street home and later released on a $3,900 property bond.
