Diamond loses some sparkle

The Lady Bears moved to 0-2 in region play after their first two region contests last week. They fell to the South Effingham Mustangs 11-1 and suffered a 13-3 loss to Hephzibah High School on the Rebels' home field last Tuesday. BCHS coach Donald Wheeler applauded his team for not giving up and consistently putting the ball into play Thursday but said the Lady Bears' efforts at the plate were stopped short by the Mustangs' tough defense. BCHS will play a doubleheader Saturday, Sept. 22, at Liberty County High School for their next region match up.
