Mitchell, Kennedy to marry Oct. 27

Mr. and Mrs. Scott Shealey and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Mitchell of Fitzgerald announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristy L. Mitchell, to Patrick C. Kennedy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Craig W. Kennedy Sr. of Sardis.

The wedding is planned for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at the Robbins Nest in Statesboro.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Myra Dorrity and the late Davis Dorrity of Fitzgerald and Lillian Merchant of Tifton and the late Byrd Hutchinson.

She is a 2001 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro where she received a bachelor's degree in community health.

She is currently employed by the Screven County Department of Children Services in Sylvania.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Velna Glisson of Waynesboro and Juanita Kennedy and the late Charles Kennedy of Sardis.

He is a 1996 graduate of Burke County High School and is currently employed by Harveys Supermarkets in Pembroke.
