Burke County serves loss to Laney

The Burke County High School volleyball team claimed a victory over Laney High School last Thursday.

The Lady Bears won two consecutive games 25-13 and 25-19 to come out on top.

Hailey Larmour led Burke County with 5 aces, followed by Cassie Loftin with 3, and Jalessa Sharpe and Whitney Jenkins, who each recorded 2. Yasma Lynch helped the team out with 4 kills, while Sharpe and Larmour pulled off 1 each. Lynch also recorded 3 blocks, while Jenkins had 2 blocks and Larmour had 1.

The same day, the Lady Bears lost to the Baldwin High School Braves. Despite pulling off a 25-23 win in their first game, the Burke County girls lost the next two, 20-25 and 18-25.

Burke County will face Hephzibah and Josey high schools Thursday, Sept. 13, at Hephzibah High School.
