Armed robbers strike again Waynesboro police have another armed robbery on their hands. Around 10:15 p.m. last Tuesday, two men with white T-shirts covering their faces held up the owner of El Cheapo on South Liberty Street. According to the police report, one of the men was brandishing a handgun. They fled on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of cash and some tobacco products. El Cheapo is the third Waynesboro business hit by armed robbers since late August. On Aug. 26, Mi Carmelita's on East Seventh Street was robbed, and on Aug. 29 the clerk at Best Western on North Liberty Street was held up. Anyone with information on any of the robberies is asked to call investigators at 706-554- 8029. |
