GA Teacher of the Year speaks to BOE
2008 Georgia Teacher of the Year Emily Jennette recently visited with the Burke County Board of Education. Jennette, who teaches at Sawyer Road Elementary School in Marietta, will serve as an educational ambassador for all Georgia public schools, their students and teachers, while taking a one-year sabbatical during which she will speak throughout the state, conduct staff development activities, serve on state-wide committees and participate in a number of state-wide conferences. Burke County's System Level Planning Meeting was one of her first visits as she begins her journey through Georgia public schools. Jennette has already been scheduled to come back to speak at Burke County schools.
