Armed robber nabbed
By Elizabeth Billips Associate Editor

A Waynesboro man was tied up with a telephone cord and robbed.

According to Investigator Bobbie Jockel of the Waynesboro Police Department, the victim called for help around 5 a.m. Saturday after the robber made away with a Monte Carlo.

He told police 28-year-old Ronald Rouse knocked on the door of his Peachtree Street home and was invited in.

The men talked for a few minutes before Rouse allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife and demanded the victim's wallet and keys.

The victim's hands were bound with a telephone cord, the report said, but he managed to free himself and get the knife from Rouse.

Rouse fled in the Monte Carlo, which belonged to the victim's father-in-law, but was picked up in Richmond County later that night.

He is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and theft by taking (motor vehicle).
