Mrs. Vera Frances DeLaigle
Mrs. Vera Frances DeLaigle of Waynesboro entered into eternal rest on Aug. 17, 2007 at University
Hospital in Augusta, Ga., after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held on Sunday Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. at Robertson's Heritage Chapel, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Karen Zeigler of the Hiltonia Methodist Church and the Rev. Steve Sirmons of the Sardis Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. DeLaigle lay in state in the chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial immediately followed the service at Magnolia Cemetery, Waynesboro.
She was the widow of Mr. Roy DeLaigle and the daughter of the late Wyatt and Ida Lee Chance Cullen.
Mrs. DeLaigle was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. She had been a teacher at the Gracewood Center and the Burke County Training Center. She was also a Pink Lady at Burke County Hospital.
Mrs. DeLaigle is survived by three sons, Leroy (Mary) DeLaigle of Sylvania, Ga., Charlie (Jill) DeLaigle and Bobby (Debra) DeLaigle, all of Waynesboro; a daughter, Ferney (Tom) Guy of Waynesboro; two brothers, Thomas Cullen of Augusta, Ga., and Billy Cullen of Sardis, Ga.; five sisters, Juanita (Norman) Elliott and Geraldine (Leon) Stokes of Sardis, Bernice Reed of Martinez, Ga., Hazel Bennett of Dalton, Ga., and Jackie Boyles of Smyrna, Ga.; six grandchildren, Don Reeves, Roy DeLaigle, Mandi DeLaigle- Daniel, Millie DeLaigle, Teresa DeLaigle and Kynlie DeLaigle; and four great-grandchildren, Chandler Reeves, Mollie Reeves, Bryson Daniel and Hunter DeLaigle.
She was also predeceased by a son, Wyatt DeLaigle.
The family received friends at Robertson's Heritage Chapel in Waynesboro on Saturday Aug. 18, from 6-9 p.m.
Pallbearers were Don Reeves, Roy DeLaigle, Steve Guy, Richard Godbee, Mike Mobley, Norman Elliott Jr., Trey Bennett and Tommy Cullen.
Honorary pallbearers were Kerry Scott, David Mobley, Allen Stokes, Jeff Stokes, Bill Elliott, Freddy Boyles and Arthur Long.
