Burke Happenings Cullen reunion The 50th Cullen reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 2, in the old S.G.A. school lunchroom located at the corner of Burke Street and Ellison Bridge Road in Sardis. Registration will begin 10 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon. Booster meeting The Pride of Burke County booster club meeting will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in the BCHS band room. All middle school band parents are also invited. The band booster club is open to anyone interested in building a successful band program. Childbirth classes Enterprise Community Healthy Start will offer free childbirth classes 5:30-7:30 p.m.Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 22-23 at the office located at 315 South Liberty St., Suite C, Waynesboro. Edenfield reunion The 55th Edenfield family reunion will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, at Magnolia Springs State Park Group Shelter 2. Attendants are asked to bring their favorite dish. Substitute teacher training The Burke County Board of Education will offer substitute teacher training 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the BOE Central Office, 789 Burke Veterans Parkway, Waynesboro. This training is mandatory for anyone wishing to be placed on the substitute list and is encouraged for those applying for a paraprofessional position. Those attending the training need to bring copies of their high school diploma, GED certificate or college transcripts. Contact the BOE office at 706-554-5101 for additional information. Late church news • Antioch Rock Creek Missionary Baptist Church will continue revival services through Friday, Aug. 24, at 7:30 nightly. The Rev. Tracy Wheeler, pastor of Buckeye Baptist Church in Dublin, will be speaker. Also, the church will celebrate its 156th church anniversary 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26. Dr. David Kemp Sr. is pastor. • McCullough Covenant Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26. All youth groups are invited, and refreshments will be served.
